O ur History

Rod Peterson, previous welsh chef of the year and his partner Liz Smith bought the Angel, Salem in 2002. The Angel is the village pub, between the Cambrian and Black mountains and the National Garden Centre. Rod has worked at various venues and gained numerous accolades for his work. Local produce is used for all of the dishes, and everything from the bread to the pastry is hand-made on the premises.

The Angel has won many awards in the short 5 years Liz and Rod have owned it including two rosetta's by the AA marking it out as a top eaterie, and also a gold award in the Dining out in Wales Guide. Notably the Angel was the only establishment in Carmarthenshire to be given the gold award in the Dining Out in Wales guide.
